And my shopping list keeps growing. On my next trip I want to buy fabrics that are different. Fabrics I have not bought before, especially knits and linen. I’ve bought a few types of knits before, and I find that it’s still not quite easy to sew with. Or I’m just not really good at it yet. So far I’ve made a couple of skirts which turned out acceptable, and two nightgowns that just stretched way too much at the collar. I’m not sure what went wrong but it could be the type of knit fabric I used.
Then I came across this while “window shopping” online. Jacquard Knits. Looks much easier to sew with? Have you tried?

Despite not knowing how easy it is to sew, I want them all! The prints are just way too cute especially in the T-shirts in the last picture. Really hope to find the little red riding hood fabric to make T-shirts for the girls!

I have made a few sagging collars already.. Lol
For the collar hole, I Find that using elastic knits or fold over elastic helps to keep the shape in place. Cut it shorter that the hole. If u have to using the same fabric u would have to use the clear elastic tape.
The pattern for the collar hole was so short! I thought there was a mistake in the pattern. So I modified and made it the same length, and it turned out way saggy… Hahah… talk about trying to be clever 😛 So now I know… got to make it shorter!
my serger works great on the knits. Yes, some neck holes end up you can’t get the head through and some way stretched out funny. I just made leggings for a granddaughter out of knit, they turned out so cute, and super simple. Trial and error I guess. I also made a little skirt out of the same fabric, it is darling also, all made on my serger. And, talk about quick!
I love my serger too… I think it depends on the type of knit fabric. There are so many types and they stretch differently. Got to keep experimenting!
