Here is the post on Yuwa floral fabrics as promised! YUWA【有輪商店】is a fabric manufacturer from Japan and I love their floral fabrics especially the linen range. Everytime I get the chance to go fabric shopping in Japan, I will spend a lot of time standing in front of the display trying to decide which one to get because they are not cheap.
This week’s Japanese Fabric post is all about Hello Kitty fabrics! I’m not one of those die-hard Hello Kitty fans where everything I own must have a HK on it, but I must admit I have a really soft spot for it, and I find it really hard to resist buying the fabrics even though all the licensed characters’ fabrics are quite pricey. Hello Kitty fabric is available from a number of different brands, especially Kokka. Even Liberty did a collaboration and incorporated Hello Kitties into their floral fabrics.
Echino is a line of fabrics designed by Etsuko Furuya 古家 悦子. Etsuko Furuya graduated from Department of Textile Design Textile Kyoto Art College. Her works include textiles, fashion and sundries. On her website you can see some of her works, including ceramics, bags and of course her fabric range. Echino fabrics are quite easily available from a number of online shops, so I’m sure many of you have seen her works before?
More fabrics from my collection! November books designed by Push-pin for Kokka fabrics. There are many brands under Push-pin, and you can visit their website to see them all. But my favourite of them all has got to be November books. I get attracted to their cute characters and color combinations, it’s always hard to walk away with only one color from each design!
Have you heard of Decole? Well, truthfully, I hadn’t. Till I stumbled upon this sale item, and it was so cute I had to buy it. The discounted price helped too of course. 🙂
It was not till I searched for more information before I realized that Decole is actually a company that owns many “brands”. If you visit their website you may recognize some of them before. One of my favourites is Otogicco.
But I digress. So back to the designs by Yuka Saji, the brand is called Decolello. And her designs are full of cute little smiley faces 🙂 It’s bad for me because I cannot resist cute fabrics! I always end up with too many. And they are usually thick linen/cotton mix which is great for making bags and accessories but not for clothes or dresses.
These two designs seem to be from the latest collection. How cute is the cactus! One more for the wish list. Plus all the new brands and objects of desire I discovered on the decole website. I better write them down for the next trip!
