As mentioned last week, I am running a survey to find out the type of Japanese Sewing Books that you would most like to see translated to English. I have compiled a list of the major categories, based on how the popular genres of Japanese sewing books available out there.
Many of you, may find it hard to choose just one category. I find it hard to narrow down my favourite type of sewing too. So you are allowed to pick up to 3 options, but you can only vote once. So choose wisely! The people in charge of deciding which books to translate may just be swayed by your vote so make your voice heard today and you can make it happen!

One of my picks was Ladies Plus sizes, because even though I am a small American, I would apparently be a large Japanese woman! I have to make the largest sizes in the book I have in order to have them fit me.
I selected Ladies, Kids, and Bags. I wish that Simple Chic by Tomomi Okawa were in English.
Baby clothes would be great too! I see it’s not an option but I’ve had to wait for my daughter to turn 1 before being able to make anything for her from these books
I selected ladies, bags and patchwork. only just getting into patchwork so not advanced enough to just go by diagrams.
I’m an xs in Japanese size so like that the patterns fit without much adjustment – I’m only 155cm or 5″1 and find I still have to take the hem up, but the shoulders fit really well whereas in western patterns the shoulders are usually too wide

I wish many books of yuki araki about girls clothes translated in english, because i love her designs so much ❤️
I actually wished someone would translate, or bring out something very similar to the magazines Mrs Style Book and Cotton Time!
I know I am late to the party and that this is about categories and not individual titles, but I agree with the comment about more of the Yuki Araki books as well as the old Sunny Spot ones. I am waiting for an untranslated one or each from a local Japanese quilt shop. Also, I definitely think baby/smaller toddler clothes would be a popular choice. The simple, sweet styles are so suitable for the tiny ones.

I would have picked something that isn’t on there. It’s more the style of book, rather than the target of the patterns. I like books like Stylish Skirts that draft from your measurements, and ones with basic patterns along with instructions for embellishments and design changes, such as Sewing For Your Girls. Sewing tips for tricky techniques are welcome too. I’d also like all the books to have the dress sizes printed on the back, and for them to go slightly larger. In all the books I’ve seen, the dress sizes stop before any of the European “plus” sizes start and many average people find they can’t make the clothes without alterations. Interestingly Happy Homemade: Sew Chic goes a size or two larger than all the other books I have (and I have a lot), but it still stops a little short of the standard “plus size” boundary.
I would love to see more tutorial books available, likethe Mae Me book with basic patterns.
